s Advisor – HR Business Partner.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded HR Business Partner to join our dynamic Human Resources team supporting a large-scale mining operation. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is passionate about building strong workforce capability, culture, and leadership across a remote mining workforce.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Business Partner will partner closely with operational leaders to deliver practical people solutions that support safe, productive, and high-performing operations and HR Business Strategies.
In This Role, You Will
- Partner with operational leaders to provide strategic and day-to-day HR support across site operations
- Support workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
- Drive employee engagement, culture, and leadership capability across operational teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, site procedures, and HR governance standards
- Assist with organizational change, restructuring, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for remote workforce operations
- Provide advice and guidance on employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, investigations, and disciplinary matters
- Analyze workforce trends and provide reporting and insights to site leadership
- Ensure compensation and benefits policies comply with PNG Labor Laws, Mining industry regulations internal governance policies
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with company values and operational standards
- Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures.
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline will be highly regarded
- Previous experience in a HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, or equivalent operational HR role
- Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills
- Experience working within mining, resources, construction, heavy industry, or other operational environments
- Highly developed computer skills including Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
- Detail oriented and a track record of delivering projects end-to-end
- Strong employee and industrial relations capability, including investigations and case management
- Ability to build trusted relationships with frontline leaders and senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices
- High resilience, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in remote site environments.
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
